While December is often a time for winding down, cosying up and getting ready for a long Christmas break, here at Fullalove we’re busier than ever.
If you read our post back in July you’d know that, like so many others, this past year has presented so many twists and turns – and while some opportunities have been lost, a whole host of other doors opened as we took time to re-think, re-evaluate and evolve. Over the past 10 months we’ve loved connecting with other like-minded customers and companies. We’ve grown our brand and developed our collections, all taking us one step closer to our goal of bridging the gap between traditional ethical clothing and the mass clothing market.
This month we’re pleased to announce two of the next exciting stages of this journey, as we are set to join two fantastic fashion collectives – FlyingSolo and SilkFred.
Fullalove will have a limited edition collection featured on Flying Solo, launching on 01 December. Based in New York, Flying Solo showcases next season’s collections from international independent designers straight off the runway, as well as limited edition pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.
Keep your eyes peeled on our social channels for the collection, coming soon!
The New York store has some notable fans - including Bella Hadid, Cardi B, Alicia Keys, and Coco Rocha.
In 2021, they are expanding to open new retail locations in Los Angeles, and Paris, and we can’t wait to share our designs with customers across the globe.
Fullalove is also proud to announce that we are joining over 600 international designers on the online-only retailer SilkFred. Our collection will be available to shop from 07 December, and will feature limited edition pieces from Fullalove styles. Our popular Savanna belted top and Daisy trouser co-ord will be available in classic black and an ultimate must-have camel shade and our Rosie Sweat will be available with stunning, handmade daisy embroidery. As part of the collection we’ve designed a staple, classic hoodie made from organic cotton with a beautiful, handmade rose embroidery, which matches perfectly with our new Smart Pin Tuck Jogger, part of our new limited edition collection, which will be available on Silk Fred, as well as our own site.
But...as we make these announcements at the end of our 1st birthday year, we can’t help but think to the future.
Some forecasts are saying that the retail experience will change more notably in the next five years than it did in the previous 50. This means our shopping behaviour from 1970 is closer to how we shop now than it will be in just a few years. Instead of browsing a rack with little knowledge of where products are sourced, what they are made of, or who makes them, more of us are shopping with a sense of responsibility. And this is only set to grow.
The bell bottom jeans, go-go boots and polyester suits we’d browse in the 70s seem so long ago. Unfortunately, those decades-old, discarded non-biodegradable fabrics are still with us - in landfill sites. Now, shoppers have increasing awareness about the environment. We are more concerned than ever of our impact as consumers.
Our founder and head designer, Millie, is already at the forefront of environmentally conscious practises: Fullalove uses only biodegradable, sustainable, ethically sourced, organic cotton, bamboo and hemp fabrics.
We are ecstatic to be joining these collective fashion communities, promoting small designers all over the world, raising awareness around alternative materials, and paving the way to usher in the new.
